Too much Getta for one release but fairly entertaining package. Same problem we had with Celebration and its three identical Bennassi remixes on one CD... Diversity please... On this release, the electro Felguk remix of Celebration is enjoyable and is a nice addition to the package. The Revolver remixes are fairly enjoyable, still nothing to be impressed about. Most remixes today are DJ centric, not song centric like they used to be in the 80's or 90s'. The song you know and love drowns in some pre-made club track taken off the shelf by a DJ who uses the song as an excuse. I love electronic music. I just hate how DJs disregard the song they claim to be remixing. As always, the result can be way too long (such as Young's remix, an endless dub without lyrics). All in all, good for die hard clubbers, great collectable for Madonna fans, but nothing really exciting to an average dance music lover. 03/02/2010 S.S. see all my reviews >>

It’s obvious that tony is very much driven by current wave of candy pop nonsense. Firstly Kristine is far more mature and far more talented in comparison to any current wave of artist and that includes gaga and the rest… Secondly tony should realise that in order for Kristine to make that “cross over” she must be signed up to a major label with huge marketing budget. This is something that is vital to any artist in current state of music industry.
I am a huge fan of Kritine’s work and I must admit watching her live just gives another dimension of her talent and its something that Gaga and the rest can’t be compared with! This single is certainly offers variety of mixes however it’s not her best. Gay or straight I say bring back the sound of Land of the Living and please get Freemasons on production list!

Why do record companies insist on the radio edits? Don't they understand their audience has no use for edits? Luckily, I swiped up the 5:40 version before it was replaced with this edit. A fantastic mix whose magic is reduced with the edit. 02/18/2010 C.W. see all my reviews >>

the funny thing about tony's poor rating and review is that he gave kristine a RAVE review for the power of music cd. and i quote "In these days of sorrow, bad economy and the world. This is just what we needed. Thank You Kristine!" it doesn't exactly make sense to love an album and artist but then say you hate her and her single from that album.....it's funny that you would attack all the divas like pepper inaya and suzanne when you loved bill bennett's album. you wrote rave reviews of "fame" and "breakaway" so why attack them on here? because bill wasn't asked to mix them? 02/17/2010 Joey Benitez see all my reviews >>

She can do no wrong in my book! Lady K rocks my world. This is a great collection and she added tons of stuff just for the fans. She works her butt off and it's all about spreading the love and making her work accessible to her fans. And for that, I am truly grateful. 02/17/2010 Shawn P. see all my reviews >>

Joel Evan Storm
Domestic CD Single (2CD)
|
 |

If Dave Gahan and Gary Numan had a child, his voice might sound similar to Joel Evan's. I think if this is the route he's taking with his vocal style, the backing tracks on this CD aren't a good fit. It might have been better with more retro 80's sound to it. 02/15/2010 B.K. see all my reviews >>

Good set but this is NOT a continuous mix - very disappointing if you, like me, buy these for aerobic training. The breaks between tunes are very annoying. PB should be more careful in the headings. 02/12/2010 R.J. see all my reviews >>

Tony - Lady Gaga & Rihanna are already doing their thing...SOOOO let the independent labels & artists work their magic by being apart of the music industry, doing what they love, pleasing their fans, etc. I love her work & her style & so do thousands of other people. 02/12/2010 E.M. see all my reviews >>

Peter and Josh turn in two of the strongest mixes here. Some of the other mixes are questionable .
Sorry to see any negative reviews. Joel is a gentleman with a bright future, and with the right song selections/ productions he will go far. I met and worked with Joel last year.
Joel sang live at the the Phoenix Arts Festival/ Unique/Movies On Central in 2009. He also did a meet and greet with fans after the performance. 02/08/2010 PAUL MCGEE see all my reviews >>

Hi:Fi vs Dave Darell Flash 2.9
Import CD Single - 1

The idea of a Flash themed dance song has been around
the block plenty of times. But... the Olav Bsoski Remix
has that certain something, & makes this a smart and fun
disc to add to your collection(s) {and mixes...} The songs on this CD would also be great for those Flash Gordon productions 'round halloween (I hear those happen sometimes in gay bars) ;-) 02/08/2010 PAUL MCGEE see all my reviews >>

Finally a comprehensive collection of ALL the videos (official and promos) that Kristine W has done in the span of a decade. I was a little concerned because of a previous review, but after watching the videos I am quite happy with this purchase. If you are a fan of KW's music and enjoy watching them at video bars and club, this is one collection for you. This definitely beats all those bootleg collections out there. 02/06/2010 musicdivaSF see all my reviews >>

I have loved Karen Young's "Hot Shot" since we first played it in the club in 1978. I have heard countless Great "reheats" / "remixes" of so many old favorites, BUT I am SADDENED to say that this is NOT one of the "GREAT" ones.
This is a Tragic mistake I hope someone will correct and do the right thing , update the recording as to showcase and Honor the wonderful Voice, talents and contribution Karen Young made to the Genre. The chopped seemingly endless repetition "oh-babe" shows little imagination as a new composition and no respect for the original. Robbie_ gee 02/05/2010 R.G. see all my reviews >>

I have to respond to the super negative comment below. Say what you will but Kristine W always gives 200 percent to her legion of fans. While it is true that she has not had crossover success, I think that is the result of a dysfunctional music distribution business. If it was based on talent she would be up there with the best of them. Record companies like to take new "talent" (I am being generous here) and push them a year or two, make all the money on them, and then dump them to the wolves. Kristine W is obviously a smart woman. She releases virtually everything that she does, and makes it available in a variety of formats. Sadly much of the pop music on top of the charts is the choice of a generation that received their musical sensibilities from the PAC man video game. The masses propelled us to foresake sound quality and settle for 128 kbps downloads from iTunes. The average listener evidently thought this was just fine. Most of the pop stuff is so poorly recorded that it just sounds like gray noise, and as long as there is an annoying and overpowering rap or shouting vocal to cover the background, it soars to the top of the charts. However, that doesn't make it good.
And while Rihanna showed some promise at first, she lost me when she sang Disturbia with the clothes pin on her nose. I like Lady Gaga, but really for her performance art; the music is just so so.
As a gay man, I am so grateful to Kristine W for her unflinching support of our community, instead of the disdain commonly received from other celebrities/performers. In my opinion, she is on top of her game, and the Power of Music is really one of her best efforts in years. 02/04/2010 R.M. see all my reviews >>

Kimberly Davis Get Up
Domestic CD Single

I LOVE THIS TRACK!!! The biggest and best dance song of 2010 so far. A great vocal from Kimberly Davis and an amazing range of remixes. I love the Oxford Hustlers, John Rizzo & Van Cronkite and D1 Music remixes best. Great to hear from Tony 'Soulbeats' Smith too - Billboard 1976 DJ Of The Year. 02/01/2010 P.M. see all my reviews >>

@tony - Lady Ga Ga & Rhianna couldn't hold a candle to Kristine W on her worst day. I don't know what your orientation is and quiet honestly I couldn't care less. However, the contributions that Kristine has made to pop dance music is incalculable. Your comment is both insulting and unappreciative. As long as Kristine keeps singing, we'll keep listening AND buying! Love you Kristine! xM 01/30/2010 michael see all my reviews >>

Sorry guys, I just never understood the Kristine W train. Fact. She couldn't cross over into pop music so she has found her niche in the gay market. Her voice and music all sound the same, there is no artistry here. She markets her self to drugged out zombies who wouldn't know good music if it was in their bumper. Playing on the back of a hay wagon dressed with pride balloons at Pride events does not make you a diva. Ok, I said it. Amber, Kristine, Lonnie, Suzanne, Peppper, Inaya etc.... it is 2010. Let Lady Ga Ga, Rhianna and the new crop move forward with new sounds and music. Your runs in the 90s were great but it is over. 01/29/2010 tony see all my reviews >>
