Alright, someone's gonna have to clue me in, what the hell is a "Venice Freak?" Is this some Euro term that everyone over there uses on a daily basis yet makes no sense to anyone who's not seated comfortably in that cultural setting? I'm not capping on it or anything, America's got its own slew of sayings that make absolutely no sense when taken out of context, like "sick" meaning "good" and "George W. Bush" meaning "President". You just have to be around it all the time to be able to detach reality and take it for the popularized meaning. Regardless, this is probably the first thing Skye's name has been on since "Drifting Away" by Lange featuring her lovely vocals. This single is a bit less serious, much more in the bouncy Euro dance pop arena. The Knoll vs. Massimo adds some urgency to the track, but otherwise this is the kind of single you can listen to and not get bothered by emotions that go too far beyond mildly affecting.

At first listen, this sounded like any other vocal euro trance song, but believe me it grows on you. After watching the video, skye is charming and sweet and has lots of footage from "venice beach". The chorus will stick in your head! This has a great hi-nrg beat with a nice melody and sweet vocals by skye. Check out the original mixes first! (m.k., 8/19/2005 see all my reviews >> )
