 This was obviously intended to be a proper, mainstream-aimed album NOT a club mixes compilation, hence the edits. However, we remix enthusiasts don't take kindly to edits, so they should really have covered all bases by including some more long mixes or doing a second disc with long mixes on. The attempt to please remix freaks with the various bonus parts is a good thought, but not as good as having playable ready-made extended mixes. As an album it works incredibly well for blasting out in the car, and it does include the cracking new song 'If' in a long version format. (And if they really did turn down Donna Summer, they must be mad! It's their time in the spotlight and they should grab it - all big remixers fade into obscurity at some point, it doesn't last for ever!). (D.B., 11/9/2007 see all my reviews >> )
Let's be honest, we are only buying these for the "bonus" material. After reading the blog entry they posted on MySpace a few weeks ago, I was expecting full length mixes from stem to stern... NOPE! I mean, it is nice to have edits to some of the tracks that are not singles, but come on! The bonus material will knock your socks off, and this is the best thing since BT released the Technology EP with all of the production parts included..... hmm may be mash-up time!
