Domestic CD Single This title is no longer available on CD.

Real McCoy. Cher. Madonna. En Vogue. The theme of "running away" has always been a powerful one -- when you get to the point where you just can't rework what's around you, what else is there to do but... runaway. Releasing a single like "Runaway" seems a bit like Iio is playing it safe with subject matter so "tried and true", but their full-length album "Poetica" is finally being released, so now is the time to lead us all in their direction with a trail of candy and sweet confection remixes. Maybe it's not as ground-breaking as "Rapture" or "At The End", but let me say that I loved this from the moment I hit play, and that from the Original Mix. I'm not saying that Markus Moser isn't a talented producer, but let's be honest, it's always been the remix that has driven all their singles to the top of DJ playlists. For "Rapture" it was Stephane K and John Creamer, Johnny Vicous was responsible for "At The End", and Airbase did a wonderful job of mainstreaming "Smooth" (which actually may have gone unnoticed otherwise). This first round of remixes of "Runaway" seem to have been informed by Iio's previous successes - Scotty Marz's Buzz Fiend Mix sounds very related to the chunky vacancy of the Stephane K & Creamer mix of "Rapture" (my personal favorite on the disc) and Ford goes in a similar direction as Airbase did on "Smooth" with twinkling trance. Out on a limb are Frank Bailey's mix, which sounds a lot like Peter Rauhofer's recent productions and contains a couple elements that sound like they were borrowed from Amuka's "Appreciate Me". The beginning of the Dirty German mix has me wanting to say, "In the beginning... there was house music... and house music... had its own groove..." a la SM Traxx's "Got The Groove", but then proceeds to evolve into a tech-tribal house sound. The disc ends with a chill version of the album version, perfect for a late-night make out session. A second disc, titled "The Club Mixes", is on its way with reinterpretations by Evolved, Kelly D, Austin Leeds and a few others, plus a Franky Bailey remix of "Smooth". As far as I'm concerned, Iio are what all club music should be like - deep, insightful, hypnotic and stunningly beautiful - and Nadia's voice is incomparable.

Iio is brilliant ! I love every track on this CD ! (Y.W., 9/13/2005 see all my reviews >> )

Yeah, that's what fans could expect from the duo that delivered "Rapture" and "At The End." The same good old electronica and Nadia's haunting voice. And we are still waiting for IIO's full-length début album. Perfect Beat, please keep us informed!!! Leonardo Cinelli from Brazil. (L.C., 1/5/2005 see all my reviews >> )

ok, they better release their album like soon 'cause if they don't we are all gonna lose interest!! iio kicks butt! (W.B., 12/28/2004 see all my reviews >> )

i love this song. actually more than "smooth". and i love ford's remix. but what is this , like the forth single? where's the album? (g.k., 12/7/2004 see all my reviews >> )

Okay this is a great song but Ford remix sends people screaming off my floor with their ears covered! The beats are way to hard, I would think they could easily blow out regular home speakers. It's a good mix but the beats are just too hard. Other that that I think it's their best track since Rapture. (D.W., 4/13/2005 see all my reviews >> )

This must be a big release. This is actually CD1, CD2 is the Club Remixes. If you go to their website, http://www.maderecords.com/made.htm POETICA is available to order there. The Club mixes are coming. This new release sounds promising. The vocals are awesome! (P.d., 12/4/2004 see all my reviews >> )

This is a great record, and the vocals, as usual, are amazing. Although this tune may not be as memorable as some of Iio's previous work, this is, nonetheless, essential listening. Buy this CD! (W.A., 12/2/2004 see all my reviews >> )

While this is a much stronger offering than Iio's previous single "Smooth", it still isn't quite up to the level of "At The End" or Rapture" but who's complaining??? The original version is nice and strong and is actually my favorite...in the absence of any essential remixes unfortunately. Fords version is sort of "trance-light" but holds up better than any of the other offerings like the bizarre Dirty German remixes with its 80's freestyle tinged elements or the way-too-long remix by Scotty Marz, it drags on for so long and loses steam about half way through. The Frank Bailey mix is nice but not much to get too excited over. Overall, the strength of this single still makes me look forward to the full-length "Poetica" (like i've BEEN looking forward to it for YEARS now....hello, Iio...where is it already???) (J.L., 12/2/2004 see all my reviews >> )

Makes one wonder what is going on at Made Records. I have been patiently waiting like everyone else for 3 1/2 years for this album to be released. I sure hope it's worth the wait. Runaway was not supposed to be the release this time, but "BE IT" was supposed to. Last minute, changed their minds. Overall, the mixes save this single, with a second club mix cd on the way. I am giving them props to happily pleasing us with a great musical effort. (D.M., 12/19/2004 see all my reviews >> )

It's becoming a tradition of dj's to snatch up anything with Iio's name on it. That's because this pair is absolutely incredible. They bring a sophistication and nuance to house music that is sorely lacking. Whether it be trance or deep progressive house, they sound amazing. "Runaway" is consistent with this, if not a complete standout. For me, the mix that captures the special quality of their sound is the Frank Bailey mix. I like Ford's interpretation, but what's up with the bpm? It's chipmunks on speed! Has Hi NRG trance gotten THAT fast?? --djmarkmarquis (M.M., 12/17/2004 see all my reviews >> )

No matter what IIO has tried, nothing can compare to their very first (and only) huge hit, 'Rapture.' This new release isn't too bad & they're trying to capture that magic of 'Rapture,' but... nice try, IIO! Once again, people will remember IIO as 'Rapture' -- DJ X.
