Perfect Beat Customer Review: This is a pretty good package deal for the price. Tracy's Mix of "Take Me As I Am" sounds great and if you didn't know it was from a soundtrack, it really doesn't sound like a show tune put to a dance beat. Tracy is much more clever than that. The other mixes, especially Mark's Mix of "Out Tonight" are well done also. It is unfortunate that these will probably be passed by simply because of the association to a show that has been around for quite a few years. Like some of the other reviewers, I still like "Seasons Of Love" (Gomi's Remix) the best so far from the Rent dance mixes since it is simply "beautiful".

Wow, what a diffrence a few months makes! It's pride season already and I am still grooving off of Mark's phenominal remix to "OUT TONIGHT". However, I have grown to appreciate Tracy's club mix to "Take Me Or Leave Me", I think that is mostly due to the fact that I have finally seen the movie (it was the first time ever seeing Rent at all for me). Yeah, nothing says PRIDE like to talented movie musical lesbians belting out a song about acceptance! So, I like her original mix, but the real shocker and total floor stealer is actually her Dub! I passed it by for months thinking it was going to be Disco like her club mix. IT'S NOT! It is total big room circuit! Less vocal, more tribal and sexier than anything else on this release. It is a close 2nd to "Out Tonight" in quality and appeal. It only loses out due to the fact that "Out Tonight" is a party song about... well going out! I am still really on the fence about Monkey Bars remix to "Light My Candle". As a completely original production I like the remix and it's fun disco/ happy house sound, on the other hand I feel like it butchered the lyrics to create it. I will admitt a dialog scene is probably a pain in the ass to remix for the clubs, but he trimmed it down to just vocal samples (I can't bag it too much because it is amazingly addictive if you listen to it without thinking of the original vocal version from the movie/broadway soundtrack). I guess what I am saying, is that if you want to have a song to blast through out all of this pride season and are over "Seasons Of Love", then this is the package to get. I just wish there was a RENT remix album, with remixes to more of the tracks. I could easily name at least 4 that I would love to here remixed. I give this release 5 stars for a big homosexual heaping helping of fun for PRIDE season! (V.S., 6/7/2006 see all my reviews >> )

Well, great song as expected, but Tracy, my dear, I have to skip over this one, to fast (4 me) not floor friendly? even tho I am a friend and fan of T.Young, this is not one of her best. I have the advanced release, contains all the mixes here on PB, but there are other mixes that are worth getting, so go 4 it... I saw the Broadway, and Movie and we all know it was on today's gay topics/issues, and friendship, etc...I think that Season's of Love was great, alot of people LOVE the mixes as I do, as this also. However I truly think that this will not sell as great as Season's did, simply because, Season's is well known on the soundtrack (1st remix of course) it is all marketing, and they possibly will do well,,and I hope it does. Rent was a Great production, and now after quite a few years it is back with CD remixes. so I got to give credit for getting this out there, it is all about money, and I do not blame the producers for mrketing this. All in all it is something for collectors, and fans. Jason Prof DJ (J.S., 4/13/2006 see all my reviews >> )

Great song and great selection of remixes, including s couple by the awesome Tracy Young, but, overall, this release isn't quite as memorable for me as the remixes of "Seasons Of Love". (W.A., 4/13/2006 see all my reviews >> )

I will spare everyone the comparisons to "Seasons Of Love", I really like the remix to "Out Tonight". Mark Picchotti really pulled out a winner. I just wish that was the main track and got all of the focus. His solid mix really makes me wonder what else could have been done with the track. As for "Take Me Or Leave Me", I hate to say it, but I will have to leave it. It's good but now WOW good. If you are a RENT fan or a fan of Tracy and her many incarnations, then give it a shot, but overall I think the money on this one is in "Out Tonight". I give this one a 3 for being solid, but not groundbreaking. (V.S., 4/13/2006 see all my reviews >> )
